Tuesday afternoon. All day Wednesday.
Work.
No phone.
No internet.
No email.
It’s as if we were living in 1994, or worse, the dark ages.
Thank God for cell phones, even though there’s crap service in the office.
Selling plants without being able to connect easily with customers and vendors is hard.
It’s enough to make you shake in the corner.
It’s amazing when you’re in that situation to realize how dependent we are upon technology.
It makes for long days. It makes for frustration.
It’s paralyzing.

Yes, even I have become too dependent on technology….and I remember not even having a telephone !! ((( oops….did I just say that?? Of course, we were poor & were probably the last to be phone connected..like maybe mid-50’s ! wow… )))

I’ve been thinking lately about how much I use and depend on technology, and I think what would I be doing if I didn’t have this stuff? I honestly don’t know. But I think I might need to step back a little and keep things in perspective. 🙂

I love how you wrote this because I can totally feel the anxiety!!!

Just think we used to do all of it without the internet. That would be a fun exercise. Thinking back to my days at the PR firm with just a word processor, land-line phone and fax machine. The good thing was you really could unplug from work. I really cracked my phone screen. It’s amazing how that has cut back on how much I play with my phone. Maybe not such a bad thing — but to try and do your job? That would be very frustrating.
